ABSTRACT

The purpose of the Integrative Education Model is to give teachers, at home and at school, an organized guide for using the findings from brain research as a support for effective teaching and learning. Integration is a major principle of brain function and strengthens the processes of learning, understanding, and memory. Since the early 1960s the research in the neurosciences has been contributing to a new understanding of the importance of teaching and its relationship to learning. Intelligence is the result of a dynamic, within-the-brain process, largely at the synaptic level, wherein the cells communicate, integrate, and associate information drawn from all areas of the brain. Cognition is the brain process most familiar to parents, teachers, and students alike. The techniques of visualization, fantasy, and imagery are important components in developing intuitive ability.
