ABSTRACT
This Introduction lays out the rationale for the book and a history of scholarly criticism surrounding absurdist literature. Providing a number of previous definitions of what is absurdist literature, this Introduction creates a postmodern collage of a definition. Ultimately, however, this Introduction lays the claims as to why we should call this literature “Absurdist Literature.” Finally, the assertion is raised that the chapters, themselves, form what is the definition of Absurdist literature.
