ABSTRACT

Just as in community planning, the central goal for homebuilding at Cerro Gordo is a synthesis of community values and environmental suitabilities. As a community of future residents, the authors have formulated a program to develop an economy at Cerro Gordo that will provide them with livelihood, thereby making the Cerro Gordo Community possible. The authors have organized supporting membership and future residency programs to bring us together to get to know one another, to clarify their community values and goals, to explore alternate approaches and to implement community action to achieve our common objectives. An outgrowth of the Town Forum's Special Program, the Community Association was the non-profit organization of future residents of Cerro Gordo, with a dispersed membership of 100 households living in various cities up and down the West Coast and across the country.
