ABSTRACT
The Safe Motherhood Quilt Project is a nonprofit organization and national effort developed to draw public attention to maternal death rates in the United States, as well as the gross underreporting of maternal deaths. The project honors women who have died of pregnancy-related causes. It serves as a voice for mothers who can no longer speak for themselves.
