The desert environment impresses upon plant life conditions of extremely favourable warmth and light and extremely unfavourable paucity of moisture. Wherever or whenever water is available, plant life blooms in remarkable profusion. The desert plants exhibit special characters of structure (morphology), behaviour (physiology), and sociability (synecology).
