ABSTRACT

In September 1988 a manifestation of mutual connection and unity among European universities took place in Bologna. The principles state that universities are everywhere autonomous institutions in the heart of societies, which otherwise may differ in construction due to geographical and historical conditions. However, the element of autonomy in this process became conditional since the literati inevitably handled the state of being both objects and subjects, elements and actors rather differently. The information society system has proved to combine open recruitment with unequal role distribution. Increasing industrialization has resulted in a growing crisis in meaning. The competitive pace of new specialized knowledge contributes to the functional vulnerability of roles, and functional social roles no longer become linked together in groups based on solidarity. The post-modern condition is premissed on the acceptance and cohabitation of a plurability of cultures, sub-cultures, narratives and discourses.
