ABSTRACT

This chapter explores how mid-career humanities faculty might use grant-funding opportunities to support their scholarship, acquire new skills, and expand existing networks. Though faculty are often expected to find, apply for, and execute grant-funding opportunities to support their scholarship goals, there remains little to no support for humanities faculty at mid-career to do so. The chapter offers specific suggestions to faculty in their work with grant-funding opportunities, including clarifying scholarship project scope, leveraging existing resources, and establishing new networks on campus, across institutions, and within the community.
