ABSTRACT

How we enact our identities as Learning Development (LD) practitioners is complex and dynamic, rooted in and developed by our values and daily practices.

In this chapter we present a day in the life of Learning Developers, exploring the diverse nature of LD practice through case studies. Drawing on the student voice offers an authentic appraisal of the LD interventions discussed, facilitating an iterative process between subject lecturers, students, and LDers.

The focus is on how we respond to varying needs utilising a range of research-informed approaches and strategies. We consider assignment support, workshops, the integrating of academic practices (reading/writing) in the curriculum, and contributing to and enacting university-wide initiatives.
