ABSTRACT

This chapter explores the experience of people who work on climate change, and the organisational dynamics that may affect them. Such people are doing important work. Humanity needs the world's climate scientists, climate communicators and campaigners, and sustainability professionals, who persist – against the odds – in studying, exploring and explaining the realities of what is happening to our collective home and what action is needed. The psychological impact of the climate crisis shapes organisational culture and working experience in difficult ways, and climate-aware therapeutic practitioners working as organisational consultants and coaches can help climate workers make sense of their experience and navigate the challenges.
