ABSTRACT
This chapter provides an overview of the Habitats in the U.S. STEM Road Map module. In this module, students will learn about the concept of habitats and will compare their local habitats with other habitats in the United States, learning about their own neighborhood, city, and state and beyond to learn about the geography and habitats of various regions of the United States. This chapter describes the objectives that drive the module and the Zoo Habitat student challenge. Also included are descriptions of how students will use STEM Research Notebooks throughout the module, prerequisite student skills, how module content supports students’ self-regulated learning, differentiation strategies, assessment information for the module, and a module timeline.
