ABSTRACT
This chapter presents the lesson plans for the Habitats in the U.S. STEM Road Map module. The chapter provides a series of four lesson plans – Amazing Habitats!, Let’s Explore Our Local Habitat!, Let’s Explore Habitats throughout the United States!, and The Zoo Habitat Challenge. Moving through lessons, students explore the characteristics of habitats, the basic needs of living things, local habitats, habitats in other areas of the U.S., and how the needs of living things are met in various habitats. Students synthesize their learning by creating a reference guide for a zoo intended to help them group zoo displays by habitat.
