ABSTRACT

When the 2011 Dear Colleague Letter served as our guidance, a student, Jessica, walked into my office and stated, “I don’t want to ruin his life. I don’t want to interfere with his education. I do want him to understand that what he did was not OK with me. I want him to witness my harm. I want him to stop bad-mouthing me to our friends and our supervisor at work. I don’t feel safe meeting with him alone. I need your help! Will you please meet with us to support me in telling him what I need to say?” How could I say no?
