ABSTRACT

The Science-based Treatment, Accountability, and Risk Reduction for Sexual Assault Active Psychoeducation (STARRSA AP) program appeared to address a critical need many survivors had shared with the author over the years, and that is, that they did not wish to have strictly punitive measures brought against the individual who harmed them, but they did want some form of intervention that would decrease the likelihood of the individual engaging in similar harmful behaviors in the future. The STARRSA AP program appeared to have the potential to address a significant gap that existed within the interventions available to campus-based practitioners in engaging individuals who had perpetrated harm. It is critical for individual STARRSA AP facilitators to assess what they are bringing into the space with their participant.
