ABSTRACT

The growing interest in outcomes-based assessment coupled with the culture of evidence expected from accreditation agencies has significantly increased the pressures on community and two-year college professionals to document, measure, and assess the effectiveness of an array of academic and student services. Interest in the field of assessment, especially as it relates to the services and programs at the community and two-year college, is becoming more pronounced with each passing year. This interest will potentially fuel an exponential growth in the literature, which will be immensely helpful to community college educators now and in the future. One of the ways to ensure quick progress to task completion is to have a guidebook available with all the necessary tools. Because the goal is to create an assessment plan, have examples available from other colleges that closely approximate what the final product should look like.
