ABSTRACT

This chapter details the CLT’s understanding of its own role within the university as it relates to ePortfolio and some challenges it has faced in trying to promote ePortfolio university-wide. The CLT ePortfolio services align with many of the Catalyst Framework’s Professional Development sector strategies, including providing professional development support to learners of new technology associated with ePortfolio via pre-semester orientations. New pedagogies in unison with technological innovations such as ePortfolio unleash learning where student work is lifted out of isolated assignments or bounded courses, where learning processes can be archived and made visible, where reflection is the norm, where communities are developed, and where courses and experiences, both curricular and co-curricular, are explicitly connected as a part of a larger educational narrative. In contrast, personalization is necessary to make ePortfolios meaningful.
