ABSTRACT

Radford University (RU) began a campus-wide ePortfolio initiative in Fall 2013. The goal of implementing ePortfolio at RU was to give every student enrolled at the university the opportunity to document his or her work. To evaluate the impact of ePortfolio practice at RU, the authors employ multiple methods of collecting evidence from students and faculty. Thus, the success rates of students participating in a curricular or co-curricular experience involving ePortfolio practice also exceed institutional success rates. Moving forward, Radford will benefit from more robust data collection methods, longitudinal data, and direct measures to better capture ePortfolio usage and impact. The ePortfolio movement at Radford has been organic, faculty driven, and institutionally supported. The movement has been seen as a way to assist students in making connections across their academic journey, as well as moving students from campus to career.
