ABSTRACT

This chapter explores how the concept and practice of intercultural competence has become a central point of the author's pedagogy when teaching intercultural communication and multiculturalism. Letters from four former students provide commentary on key lessons learned from his introductory intercultural communication course and how these lessons have affected their professional and/or personal lives. The chapter concludes with the teacher's observations on the intercultural competence that these students display, as well as how these students have made him reflect upon his own continued development of intercultural competence and its influence upon his pedagogy.
