ABSTRACT
The Washington Center for Improving the Quality of Undergraduate Education at Evergreen State College, a nationally known institute, advocates the benefits of learning communities emphasizing multi-disciplinary perspectives (Washington Center, n.d.). The Washington Center offers overall guidance in structuring learning communities and references more than 300 different applications of community learning in colleges and universities. However, no specific program mentioned by the Washington Center included introductory accounting.
