ABSTRACT

This chapter offers reflections on the theoretical material, narratives, tools, and strategies presented in the volume as well as recommendations for future work on the experiences of multiracial people in higher education. It begins with Lisa's reflection on the volume that weaves in parts of her personal narrative. The chapter concludes by offering a collectively built list of some of the possible future directions and important considerations for those engaging in this work moving forward. As a biracial woman of color, the author often feel like this minimizes and erases her experience as a multiracial person because to her colorism and monoracism are two different systems of oppression that are working together to uphold White supremacy. A point that is illuminated in the book is that multiraciality and monoracism can be utilized to tell a larger narrative about racism and White supremacy.
