ABSTRACT
Jennifer, still laboring away on her dissertation, decides she needs a respite from the drudgery. She and her partner Lisa decide it would be fun to audit a class together. They look around and find one in women's studies on feminist theory that looks compelling. Jennifer, once in the course, finds herself blown away by the content. While she always considered herself a feminist, she now realizes that the way she viewed the world before was still one based on very different assumptions. Learning everything that she is now, she feels motivated to do something important. She toys with the idea of changing her dissertation to utilize a feminist lens. She has a feeling, however, that her advisor will be nonplussed, to say the least.
