ABSTRACT

Purdue University’s main campus is located in West Lafayette, Indiana, and is home to 34,290 undergraduate students and 10,949 graduate and professional students. Purdue’s diverse population coupled with its geographical location make a rich context for dialogue and political discourse. Purdue has seen an increase in student political engagement. Purdue University signed on to the Big Ten Voting Challenge in its inaugural year in the fall of 2017. In 2020, PurdueVotes exceeded their goals with an overall registration rate of 86.4% and a voting rate of 67.2%. The Purdue Political Action Fair is an event that was developed by students to bring a diverse group of student organizations together with a common goal of registering students to vote and challenging students to take political action beyond the ballot box.
