ABSTRACT

The leadership team has been very intentional about embedding Engagement Matters into every process and activity undertaken by the college. An action plan consists of a number of action steps or changes to be brought about at the college, which often necessitates additional training and acquisition of new skills. Because the conversations on institutional transformation were gaining so much traction, the president and vice presidents sought approval from the board of trustees to retire the old strategic plan one year early to allow the campus to focus on the new plan rooted in equity and completion. The college's engagement plan must describe the ways stakeholders are involved in the change process as well as identify any potential issues with their engagement and commitment to change. The president has the responsibility for cultivating a positive team culture. The communication plan is an essential component of the overall change management process.
