ABSTRACT

Today's community college leaders are faced with significant challenges, ranging from declining budgets to fluctuations in student enrollment to increased accountability for student success to the need to close equity gaps to keeping pace with technology to demands to prepare students for the workforce in a rapidly changing economy. Team Leadership in Community Colleges is designed to provide readers with valuable insights from the contributors, experienced leaders who have thought deeply about the effective use of leadership teams. Community college leadership teams will be challenged by the rapid evolution of technology. The contributors share a broad range of perspectives on team leadership in community colleges, showing new and different ways of understanding how teams can work in community colleges. Community college leaders and their teams will need to develop policies and practices to handle technology and social media. The chapter also presents some closing thoughts on the key concepts discussed in the preceding chapters of this book.
