ABSTRACT
This chapter offers an overview of the spectrum of definitions comprising blended teaching and learning as well as a review of the efficacy literature about the impact of blended learning in different disciplines and populations. The chapter also provides rationales for why one might choose to develop a blended course or program. Finally, the chapter outlines the structure of the overall workbook and some tips for readers who are navigating the exercises throughout the book.
