ABSTRACT

A learning management system (LMS), which is a web-based technology tool designed to host and deliver learning, is a key component of blended courses. This chapter offers a review of the variety of tools available to instructors to facilitate student learning within an LMS and discusses the importance of considering course learning objectives when choosing technology tools to support learning activities. The chapter describes how quality rubrics can help instructors to gauge effectiveness the of a course’s structure. This chapter also includes a series of guiding questions and checklists to help readers organize their content and most effectively use the tools within their LMS.
