ABSTRACT

In this chapter, the authors provide an overview of key concepts related to assessment in a blended classroom, including formative and summative assessments, analytic and holistic rubrics, and assessment mapping. The chapter also provides an overview of current trends related to authentic and alternative assessments. Within the chapter, strategies for translating traditional assignments for blended courses are offered. The chapter also includes an assessment checklist to ensure alignment between course goals, learning objectives, and formative and summative assessments offered throughout the term.
