ABSTRACT
The purpose of this chapter is to provide a brief overview of the current educational statistics and conditions of female faculty in higher education. More specifically, this chapter will highlight Latina faculty experiences and their representation in higher education. Through an extensive interview with a senior academic, the role of gender and culture in this profession will be evaluated. Moreover, the unique responsibilities and additional barriers encountered in her pursuit of the full professoriate will be assessed.
