ABSTRACT

Throughout the next five chapters, I present the findings from the research that guides this book. In developing findings, I analyzed the data to understand the experiences of the participants with whom I was working. I framed my analysis by using Jackson and Mazzei’s (2012) notion of “thinking with theory” as an analytical tool. I used my research questions as a way to organize my analysis of the data, consciously constructing the findings to be reflective of the research questions that framed the overall study (for more information on the research questions, please see the appendix). Rather than suggesting I had a priori assumptions about what I would find, this choice reflected my desire to provide clear answers to the very questions participants and I set out to address in this book.
