ABSTRACT

Jarrett Gupton’s academic trajectory is a testament to his curiosity. Jarrett admits that his interest in diversity scholarship arose almost by accident; he simply “fell into it.” Despite somewhat aimless beginnings as a graduate student at the University of Southern California (USC), Jarrett soon specialized in college access for low-income and homeless students, an area he continues to explore. Jarrett’s work is sophisticated and nuanced, reflecting his passion for helping homeless youths pursue postsecondary education.
