ABSTRACT
Academic conversations . . . take place over time, draw in people from different institutions, at different points in their academic careers. They move from individual to joint work, from private to public. Any one conversation won’t affect all participants’ work—but our endeavors are indelibly shaped by ongoing interaction among colleagues.
