ABSTRACT

This essay proposes the democratization of knowledge through a cultural humility that allows us to learn from the knowledges of the Other while helping us question the potential flaws in our own. In this regard, the questioning of a universalist, eurocentrist outlook or vindicating the importance of the thought of non-European thinkers such as Franz Fanon or Aníbal Quijano should not lead to rejecting tout court the many important tools of emancipation coming from the European philosophical tradition.
