ABSTRACT

To inspire other scholars, this chapter describes my journey of transforming the course Consumer Behavior as it evolved from centering on the behaviors of consumers to incorporating sustainability concepts and related impact on the behavior of students. Further, it describes the introduction of sustainability topics in the course and how this resulted in the development of new didactic techniques for Responsible Management Education (RME). In developing a new course, I considered how the student’s knowledge and understanding of their own behavior and consumption are related to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and how students could develop a strategy to contribute to one of the SDGs or their targets. It finishes with recommendations to those willing to introduce changes in their courses and eventually develop them into new ones.
