ABSTRACT

A hallmark of the series Contemporary Freud is giving voice to colleagues from a wide variety of cultural backgrounds and psychoanalytic schools, writing in several different languages. In the present volume, for example, English, French, German, Italian, Spanish, and Portuguese are the native languages of the individual authors. So, most of the texts have been translated into English from other languages. Consequently, they have undergone significant transformation, perhaps even distortion (Entstellung).
