ABSTRACT

The author addresses Creative Aging as a state of mind from her personal point of view about how coming to a mature age affords an opportunity to be more creative in studio artmaking, written expression, and mentoring and being mentored by others. The chapter concludes with suggestions for how the National Art Education Association might benefit from the expertise of aging art educators and include those who wish to participate by embracing their knowledge and expertise as integral parts of local, regional, national, and international art education research and practice agendas.
