ABSTRACT

This chapter focuses on change and transformation and how they are related to possible socio, demographic, economic, technological, and environmental drivers generating an impact on business models. Authors focus on megatrends, defined as fundamental forces of change, depictable by looking at trends with deep social, economic, and technological implications. While trends and megatrends are observable and can require planning, managers must also learn how to cope with potential disruptions that may act as catalysts or moderators of change. So, this chapter deepens how flexibility, resilience, and dynamic capabilities can be keys to face complexity, volatility, and uncertainty.
