ABSTRACT

This chapter focuses on strategic change and the role of managers – and leaders – in navigating and steering change through strategic decision-making, planning, and implementation. To this end, the chapter also focuses on transformative leadership, which has emerged in management literature as a compelling approach that goes beyond traditional management practices, involving inspiring and empowering individuals and teams to reach their full potential, fostering a shared vision, and driving positive change. As transformative leaders, new managers should develop and leverage specific qualities to be effective at both the micro and macro levels and as decision-makers. Finally, the chapter analyzes the role of remote leadership in the era of digitalization.
