ABSTRACT

This article describes three ways of constructing a museum: antiquarian, ethnological, and sociological and at the same time acknowledges the evolutionary framework to be the scientific one. There is a proposal to demonstrate the “mental development” of various races as well as of humankind in general. The idea of race is strong. There are detailed descriptions of evolution of material objects such as guns and bayonets and also of the decay and loss of cultural attainments.
