ABSTRACT
This chapter uses generational theory to consider the importance of how generations and different cohorts of people impact activism. In CEE region, sometimes generational differences can produce problems with mobilization and activism while in other countries and in specific sectors the specific experiences groups of people face encourage collaboration and cooperation across generations. The aim of this chapter is to use a generational lens to explore differences between activism in Poland and Ukraine. In Poland, generational differences have created some conflicts between younger women's activists and older activism. In contract, in Ukraine different age groups have used their unique experiences and expertise to collaborate, creating powerful and effective coalitions of activism.
