ABSTRACT
The reality of geopolitics is rapidly changing with new technologies, especially digital ones. The study of geopolitics or the broader spectrum of International Relations (IR) requires frequent theoretical changes so that the changing dynamics are clearly understood. Though the US and Russia are still the major players in International Politics, China has taken the position of Russia countering the hegemony of the US. Recognising the changing dynamics, this chapter introduces the book to the readers. After briefly introducing the need for research regarding the military changes induced by digital technologies in India, this chapter briefs the conceptual understanding of the Revolution in Military Affairs (RMA). It provides a gist of the current international tussle to achieve leadership in frontier digital technologies. It also briefly introduces the book that describes the impact of AI, blockchain and quantum technologies in the military.
