ABSTRACT

V. E. Walker, A First Church History gives an account of the general development of Christianity in the form of short chapters on important movements or people, to each of which is added a few notes of explanation or illustration. The material is also sold in a pack comprising thirty-five sets of the twenty worksheets, thirty-five scholars' books and one teacher's book. For the 13-16 age-group K. Savage in The History of World Religions tells of the birth and growth of the main world religions, fitting them into their historical setting and outlining their basic beliefs; the book contains useful maps and good illustrations. For the 9-13 age-group, there are R. W. Thomson's English Christianity Handbooks. Sir F. Kenyon, The Story of the Bible tells the story of the writing and publishing of the Bible based upon the papyrus and manuscript discoveries; it is suitable for the 13-16 age-group and above.
