ABSTRACT

Syrian civilians migrated all over the world after the civil war that broke out in Syria in 2011, leading Turkey to become the country with the highest amount of Syrian refugees. Today, Turkey hosts approximately four million Syrian people and close to 320,000 immigrants from other nations. This chapter focuses mainly on the posttraumatic growth (PTG) experiences of Syrian refugees in Turkey. The chapter describes briefly the profile of Syrians living in Turkey, the challenges that they experience, their mental health issues, and their psychological and social adjustment in order to have a better understanding of the PTG process.
