ABSTRACT
This chapter describes the individual and small group interview protocols with Grades K-6 participants in the Arizona State University (ASU) seven-year longitudinal study of drama with and theatre for children. Young people from an intervention site elementary school were interviewed after selected theatrical productions by graduate students and faculty in the ASU theatre for youth program. The chapter will discuss general research design and recommended interview procedures such as focus group composition, questioning strategies, and interview dynamics.
