ABSTRACT

In this chapter, we question the situation of students with disabilities in France through the period of COVID to observe how they go through continuous changes in everyday-life organization. The authors expose findings out of their experience working with children and young adults with disabilities, focusing more specifically on those with a visual impairment or an attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder. We found it interesting to mix our experiences out of our positions as social/educational workers and academic researchers. Within the school, special teachers have made the same observation. The maintenance of educational continuity and the inclusive dynamic have been disrupted. The strict constraints linked to social distancing have destabilized the regularity hitherto established. The authors will highlight several important points for everyone to consider adopting during the time of pandemic.
