ABSTRACT

This chapter highlights the real-life situations in Qatar during the pandemic. In March 2020, Qatari Government Communication Office decided to shut down educational institutions to curb the spread of COVID-19 in the country. The complete shift from traditional education to distance or blended learning is a preventive step that was adopted by the government officials to counter the COVID-19 pandemic. It is the first time that education in Qatar is entirely relying on educational platforms or the learning management system in education. The authors acknowledge that they did not know the status of students with disabilities and their responses to this new system. This chapter tries to show the challenges, opportunities, and threats for these students and their families to improve the current system.
