ABSTRACT

This chapter focuses on the vignettes of our own journeys to and through our respective Historically Native American Fraternity and Sorority (HNAFS). In sharing the genealogical connections about HNAFS, we include the most recent work within the literature and expand on important topics. We acknowledge Indigenous scholars have contributed extraordinary research about HNAFS and that scholars may still be in the process of producing knowledge to address gaps in the literature. As a result, we focus on the growth, expansion, and impact of HNAFS on Indigenous students currently. All the HNAFS maintain an alumni database or other ways of tracking their alumni. The ways that HNAFS engaged alumni were either on an annual basis with family events or opportunities to connect through social media. This chapter discusses how HNAFS members have found their way into careers as faculty, staff, and administrators in higher education.
