ABSTRACT

For many years, I have studied by means of a number of experiments, one simple process: that which consists in naming what we see. I am interested in studying information processing in such a simple situation because I think that we should achieve a more precise understanding of the basic processes in order to explain better the complex processes. And perception is the source of all information. I speak of perception, but it would also be possible to speak of immediate memory, because, in some experiments, the subjects were asked to name not just a single but several stimuli.
