ABSTRACT

The post-pandemic strategy of the Russian Federation is devoted to reaching the environmental goals in the context of current development of the national economy in the global context. The concept of “green economy” became commonplace in Russia in the 1980s. Due to rapid economic growth, an increase in energy and land-intensive product consumption as well as industrial production has triggered a variety of negative environmental effects such as resource depletion (concerns non-renewable resources, e.g., oil, coal, and gas); growing carbon dioxide emissions; loss of biodiversity; climate change; higher occurrence of natural disasters destroying infrastructure and disrupting production processes; and air and water pollution, causing deteriorating health and consequent productivity of the workforce.
