ABSTRACT

Those who have witnessed television programs over our New York City station must have arrived, however circuitously, at the conclusion that some method underlay their selection. For, despite the apparently distant relationship between “skin acts,” jugglers, harmony teams and dramas, football and basketball and baseball games, at one time or another the televiewer becomes aware that behind the heterogeneous agglomeration of entertainment lies some sort of plan. Usually, for instance, the televiewer can be reasonably certain of witnessing a play on Friday evening, and usually he finds himself confronted with variety of some sort on Wednesday evening. And Thursday afternoon is pretty certain to bring a motion picture feature.
