ABSTRACT

This study focuses on the impact of psychological contract breaches on organizational outcomes such as job satisfaction, intention to stay with the organization, perceived organizational support, and organizational citizenship behaviours of employees working in the private education sector in the context of private universities in and around Kolkata. In order to maintain profitable operations, organisations must prioritize employee output and retention. Employee–employer perspectives have been studied using the concept of psychological contracts. The nature of the connection between workers and their employer is a major factor in employee loyalty and retention. Employment contracts, collective bargaining agreements and government restrictions all have a role in shaping the employer-employee dynamic. Recent studies have been looking into the correlation between psychological contract and organizational loyalty to better understand the factors that contribute to both. Thus, the study’s aim is to obtain information about the issue and comprehend the idea of psychological contract from the perspective of workers in order to decrease the phenomenon of frequent employee turnover in private educational institute.
