ABSTRACT

Organisations thrive on people factor. At the heart of organisational excellence, it is the nurturing of human force that matters most. An employee supplemented with effective compensatory package, in turn, contributes to the productive hub of organisation with greater commitment towards work and responsibilities. With a brief introduction on the notion of employee compensation, the chapter outlines interlinkage of cost of governance and managerial compensation, employee satisfaction, optimal compensation and organisational culture, remuneration management tool, employee career prospect and compensation programme in the organisational domain. The focus of the chapter is to visualise the prime identifiable arenas within the purview of compensation practices of the present-day business houses. The promises and the potential of compensation management spectrum are quite pertinent in present-day fluctuating business environment with competitive survival of the organisations. A scale ‘car-per-job-com’ has been crafted for item analysis in the present study. The coverage of the study makes a modest attempt to reach out the relevance of compensation management practices for long-term organisational sustenance and accomplishment in the days to come.
